Join the Henry Clay Center for its inaugural college summit on Kentucky policy issues! Students from Kentucky colleges and universities are invited to form a team to develop policy recommendations to address the stalemate facing the state’s pension system crisis. During the weekend conference, teams will be challenged to collaborate with one another, combining elements of their unique policy recommendations to create an inclusive framework that incorporates a multitude of ideologies and political perspectives.
The summit will take place October 17 to October 19, 2019. The summit will open with a welcome dinner on the 17th and include sessions on the 18th and 19th. The final event will be a public presentation on Saturday, October 19th. Program sessions will take place at the University of Kentucky, Gatton College of Business.
The College Summit on Kentucky Pensions is an ideal co-curricular opportunity for undergraduates interested in public policy, law, government and public service to develop and practice professional skills. Students will have a unique opportunity to meet and network with collegiate peers from across the state. Through the summit, students will have a platform to elevate political discourse, promote collaboration and inspire a way forward for all Kentuckians.
The League of Women Voters will have a “Get out the Vote” booth. The LWV has also been asked to have a member volunteer to be a judge.
