Frazier History Museum Virtual Event: LET'S TALK | Bridging the Divide: Policing and Social Justice

We’ve been sharing videos recently as part of the Bridging The Divide series, tackling tough conversations by interviewing people in our community with varying perspectives. Part of that discussion has centered on police, the cases of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, the ongoing protests, and racial unrest.

We are continuing these talks about police and trust, and how we move forward as Louisville searches for a new police chief, and the department undergoes a review that will look at several things including bias-free policing and use of force. The Synergy Project was addressing the trust issue before the pandemic hit, before the protests.

Join program moderator Rachel Platt as she brings several voices together in a virtual program, Let’s Talk: Bridging the Divide with Police.

The guests include:
Chief of Public Safety, Amy Hess
Executive Director of Diversity and Equity at UofL, Marian Vasser
Metro Council President David James
Director for Peace and Spiritual Renewal at Spalding University, Chandra Irvin
FOP President Ryan Nichols
Youth Organizer and writer for the Courier Journal, Quintez Brown

The virtual program will run from 6 to 7pm on the Zoom platform, and simulcast live to the Frazier’s Facebook Page: www.facebook.com/fraziermuseum
