Join the LWV Los Angeles for a screening of "Coded Bias," followed by a panel discussion about how facial recognition may be used by law enforcement to target individuals.
Director Shalini Kantayya’s 2020 documentary film “Coded Bias” interweaves the story of MIT researcher Joy Buolamwini’s journey of creating the Algorithmic Justice League, an advocacy organization, with other examples of facial recognition software being used around the world. Facial recognition software is biased against women and people of color.
With your donation ($10) you will receive the link to the screening that you can view from February 15 to 21.
Then, join an engaging panel to discuss the film and the current use of facial recognition.
