What the Constitution Means to Me: Attend the show and/or volunteer

  • Farish Theatre in the Central Library 140 East Main Street Lexington, KY 40507 USA (map)

What the Constitution Means to Me is a play by Heidi Schreck that will be presented by Voices Amplified at the Farish Theatre in the Central Library in Lexington, Kentucky, from September 5–7, 2024. The play is a humorous and historical look at the Constitution and how it might shape the next generation of Americans. Schreck draws from her own experiences as a 15-year-old who debated the Constitution for college scholarships and from her family's history to tell the story of four generations of women whose lives were shaped by the Constitution. The play also includes a debate between Schreck and a local high school debater about whether the Constitution should be abolished and replaced, with the conclusion of the debate varying with each performance.
