Candidate Forums

The League of Women Voters holds candidate forums to allow voters to learn about candidates. It is important to be well educated on the issues and positions of candidates prior to voting. By learning about candidates’ plans and stances before going to the polls, voters are able to make an informed decision about which candidate would best represent them in government. As a nonpartisan political organization, the League is uniquely positioned to facilitate an unbiased platform for candidates to share their platforms and beliefs.

In additional to candidate forums, you can also learn about candidates at Vote411.org. The public is encouraged to participate by submitting questions.

Candidate forums have offered a tremendous opportunity to partner with local media and the Lexington Public Library to increase the reach of the forums through live broadcast and social media. During the Coronavirus pandemic, we have shifted to doing virtual forums via Zoom, which are recorded and share via social media.
