The Women's Suffrage Centennial Chorus is sponsoring a film screening of “Suffragette”, a movie set in England during the violent years of 1912/1913, dramatizing the militance of Emmeline Parkhurst’s Women’s Social and Political Union. Known as “Suffragettes”, they greatly influenced the visiting American Alice Paul, who became prominent in the American suffrage movement. The last film of the series, Iron Jawed Angels, picks up the star of Alice Paul and the American suffrage movement in 1913. Film: 107i minutes.
