In Her Footsteps: LWV of Lex Tour of Women’s History Sites

The LWV of Lexington will kick off the new program year with a walking tour of women’s history sites in downtown Lexington!

Put on your walking shoes and join us at Gratz Park ( bounded by 2nd and 3rd streets, Mill and Market ): also meeting point for a 1915 Suffragists’ Parade that ended in Duncan Park. We will see the home of Mary Jane Warfield, Kentucky suffragist and mother of suffragists Laura Clay, Mary Barr, Sallie Clay and Annie Clay; visit the sites of several of the Kentucky Equal Rights Association conventions; and view the beautiful STAND suffragist statue on Mill and Vine Streets.

The route will be approximately 1-2 miles in length and will culminate at Gratz Park where light refreshments will be served as we take time to meet and greet each other.

Rain Date Sept. 18, 10 AM.
